This is our second 14th April. It is a better way to regain the day than when one flies which puts you in Vancouver about one hour or so before you left Brisbane, too exhausted to enjoy the extra day.
It was another quiet day for us, kind of cloudy outside but warm. We kept our door open to listen to the waves. We read and napped. Napping is so easy; Carol ZZ thinks it is the motion of the ship. There is a gelato stand so we checked out their offerings after lunch. I must have picked the wrong flavours, the chocolate tasted only brown and the amaretto only white. I miss Anita!
There was a medical emergency in the buffet. I’m not sure what this says about the food there!
The weather report and forecast is about the same as it has been for the last few days: 23 or 24 degrees, cloudy with passing winds. The humidity is not so great that it compromises the a/c if we have our door open. Over night the time goes ahead again another hour.
At 5:00 pm there is a further announcement from Captain Tony that the shipboard medical team reports ten cases of influenza. He admonishes us to be cautious with hand-washing, and that the staff will increase their sanitation measures. We think that if there are ten cases reported to the medical team, there are that many and more unacknowledged. It makes us cautious about the theatre and other venues so we do not attend anything. The navigation and enrichment sessions are replayed on the TV in our rooms, so we can watch at our leisure.
We have taken no photos around the ship which makes for a dull blog. But we will correct that soon.
